I am thoroughly impressed with Herzog’s innovative style of filming. I always find it refreshing to witness new techniques used in filmmaking. I particularly appreciate the use of the toy helicopter in the film to create a surreal experience for the viewer and applaud the Herzog’s courage in committing to this technique. Kudos for courage! I occasionally lose interest in narrated documentary films however the pacing, camera moves, color, innovative cinematography and historical content in Herzog’s film all assisted in keeping me captivated all the way through. I picked up on some things that I plan to use in future projects.
